How to disconnect from Xero

Updated over a week ago

To disconnect from Xero, navigate to Settings > Integrated Apps and click Configure on the Xero panel. You will be presented with a screen like this:

Click Disconnect from Xero to begin the disconnection process. You will first be prompted with a confirmation pop up, to make sure it was not a mistake, and also informing you that disconnecting from Xero will not remove your Xero objects from Timesheet Portal. It will just remove the access that Timesheet Portal has with your Xero account.

Upon clicking Confirm, you will be presented with another prompt, this time asking whether you wish to disconnect the shared connections too. In many cases, you will only be disconnecting from Xero so that you can obtain a new refresh token by reconnecting afterwards, therefore in these cases, you probably do not want to disconnected your shared connections, otherwise you will need to set these up again.

Once you have clicked Disconnect, you should have been disconnected from Xero and will be prompted as such. However, there are some cases where we cannot disconnect you from Xero - usually due to an expired refresh token, or a refresh token which has been invalidated during a recent export/import process with Xero. In this case, you will be presented with a prompt as to how to disconnect your Timesheet Portal account manually from Xero.

Manually disconnecting from Xero

To manually disconnect from Xero, you can click here, or if the link does not work, navigate to your Xero account and then, at the top left where your organisation name is, click the dropdown and select Settings.

On the following screen, under Organisation Settings, click the Connected Apps setting to be shown a list of your connected apps:

If you see an option named Timesheet Portal, click the 3 vertical dots and select Disconnect. If you do not see an option named Timesheet Portal, then you have already been disconnected.
