How to set link tax codes between Timesheet Portal & Xero

Updated over a week ago

Both Timesheet Portal and Xero provide a mechanism for managing a set of Tax Rates, each of which can be applied to a particular line item of a sales or purchase invoice. In order to successfuly export invoices from Timesheet Portal to Xero, you must first specify how each Timesheet Portal tax rate should be translated into its equivalent in Xero.

Assuming you have already succesffuly connected to Xero, you should navigate to the Xero Integration configuration page, by clicking on Settings, then Integrated Apps, and then Xero. Click on View Tax Rate Mappings to view the current mappings. If you have not yet mapped your tax rates, we will automatically attempt to find the best matches for you.

The list you are presented with is a list of Timesheet Portal tax rates, each with a drop-down showing the possible Xero equivalent tax rates. These tax rates are filtered out, so for example, on a Timesheet Portal sales tax code, you will only see Xero sales tax rates. If you need to create additional Timesheet Portal tax rates, you can do so by clicking on Settings->Account->Tax Rates.

Once you have completed your mappings, click Save Changes.
