Employee Utilisation Report

Updated over a week ago

The employee utilisation report provides a utlisation figure that is based on the amount of billable time employees work as a percentage of their contracted time.

The utliisation figure is calculated as follows:
 [utilisation %] = [total time billable] / [contracted hours] x 100

You can set the employee contracted hours from the Employment tab when you edit the employee. You may choose to enter here the contracted hours/days per week or per month, or even per year if you wish. You must simply then ensure that keep this time range consistent amongst all employees, and when you run the employee utilisation report, you choose the same time grouping as the contracted hours range. For example, if you choose to enter Bob's time as 35 hours (and you have decided that this is per week), then when you run the report, choose the "Weekly" time grouping. If you choose the time grouping to be "Monthly", then each line in the report would contain all the time for a month, and therefore if Bob had worked 120 hours in the month, his utilisation would be extremely high as you are comparing the time worked in the month to his contracted time per week.
