Between time rule

Describes Between Time (daily) and Between Time (weekly) overtime rules

Updated over a week ago

 Between time rule

Another commonly used custom rule set is 'Between time', of which there are 2 variations: Daily or Weekly. The between time custom rule set is useful for setting up overtime rules based on the two time periods e.g. 9 am to 5 pm. An example of where this is used is where employees work on weekends and are paid overtime for working on Saturday and/or Sunday. The between time rule can be setup to automatically convert any time worked between 9 am and 5 pm on Saturday or Sunday as overtime.

Before setting up any custom rule sets, ensure any required rates have been created from Settings > Rate Codes & Units > Rates. To begin, navigate to Settings > Overtime Rules and either edit an existing overtime rule group or create a new one. Once in the rule group interface, create a new rule using the Add Rule button to the bottom left of the page.

To setup a Between time overtime rule:

Select Between time (dally) or (weekly) as the Rule Type

Enter a description for the Rule

Select which days to apply the rule to

Select the source rate used in the timesheet

Use Output to rate for the target output mode
