Topup Rate (weekly) rule

Describes the usage of the topup rate (weekly) overtime rule

Updated over 7 months ago

This rule allows you to topup a worker's time up to a specified amount. For example, if a timesheet contians 32 hours, this rule can top it up to 40 hours by adding an additional 8 hours.

The topup rule allows you to choose what rate to topup the time with. So in the example above, you can specify the target rate code for the additional 8 hours added. You can also define whether you want to keep the original time below the top-up amount as the original rate code, or convert it to a different rate code.

The topup rule will distribute the topup amount evenly across all the timesheet entries, so an 8 hour topup may be divided amongst 5 days of the week. For example, if Monday to Thursday has 7 hours per day originally, and Friday has 4 hours, then the 8 hours is allocated as follows:
Monday - Thursday: [Total amount to topup] x (7 / 32)
Friday: [Total amount to topup] x (4 / 3)

This means you end up with 1.75 hours of topped up time on Monday to Thursday, and 1 hour on Friday. If there are any rounding inconsistencies introduced due to the proportional distribution of topup time. then the last entry in the timesheet will be adjusted automatically to compensate.
