Timesheets can consist of multiple tasks and rate type combinations. Additionally, if you have enabled the Activities feature, you can also add a third parameter to each line which links the task and rate to a specific activity. You may think of a task being the same as an activity, but the activity feature can be renamed, and is often used for tracking roles for example.

Users an tasks are configured such that the user either adds specific assigned tasks to their timesheet, or the tasks are added in automatically. Rate types are usually pre-assigned to a task, but timesheets can also be configured so that the user chooses the rate type when they add in their task. For example, you may have many variants of overtime, which you want the user to choose when adding in their task, rather than being presented with many lines in the timesheet showing every rate type. (You can simplify this even further using our overtime rules automation feature).

To access timesheets, click on the Timesheets menu heading, and select My Timesheets.
